Shady Courtyard, Liverpool

This was a challenging space to work with as it was so small and in shade from neighboring conifers for most of the day. We used these constraints to our advantage and introduced a woodland theme with shade loving plants. Groundcovers consist mainly of evergreen carpet forming plants such as Wild Ginger and Japanese Spurge whilst ferns punctuate the space with a Dicksonia antartica (Tree Fern) taking centre stage.
